The
Humanitarian Need for Bitcoin
Crypto has been
playing a big part in the war between Russia and Ukraine, not only
in helping the Ukrainian government, but the Ukrainian migrants
trying to flee the country as well. With money being easier to move
across the world than ever before, how will this technology advance
to help others truly in need gain financial
sovereignty?
Ukrainian
refugee flees to Poland with $2,000 in bitcoin on a USB
drive
Ben and Kevin discuss
an amazing article written by MacKenzie Sigalos as she follows a 20
year old Ukranian refugee fleeing from Lviv to Poland and how
having a crypto wallet ensured he had a roof over his head and food
for him and his family.
ASA continues
clampdown on misleading and irresponsible crypto ads in the
UK
The Advertising
Standards Authority in the UK has issued enforcement notices to
over 50 crypto based companies for misleading advertisements. The
ASA has told these firms to review their ads and make sure they are
in compliance with the rules. It also threatened firms with
targeted sanctions if “problem ads” persist after May
2nd.
The UK
treasury will make payments to Bank of England for the first time
to cover losses from the governments quantitative easing
plan
The U.K. Treasury
will make payments to the Bank of England for the first time to
cover losses from the institution’s quantitative easing plan,
according to the nation’s fiscal watchdog. The forecasts, if
realized, would mark a historic moment for the U.K. and may prove
politically tricky for the Treasury. It could force the government
to either earmark future taxpayer funds away from other projects to
compensate the central bank or increase borrowing to cover the
cost.
Weird World of
Crypto
Ben and Kevin blind
react to Randi Zuckerberg’s recent music video based on women in
the crypto-sphere, NFT’s and Web 3.0. It’s quite the
experience!
